By slhaf | April 20, 2010
International Olympic athlete Liz Yelling today launched the Sweatshop Bluewater 10k race, taking place on Sunday June 13, 2010.
Yelling offered training advice ahead of the event, one that hopes to attract 4,000 runners across all fitness levels. The race will start and finish at Bluewater, taking runners past the 50 acres of lakes and parkland surrounding Bluewater, then onto Greenhithe and Stone. Perfect for the active family, there is also a 2k run for children plus music and entertainment in the official race village.
This event, now in its fourth year, raises money for local charities including Demelza Hospice Care for Children, DGSM Your Choice and the Dartford and Crayford Sea Cadets. Bluewater hopes like to exceed last year’s fundraising total of £25,000.
H&F readers can sign up to this event for the discounted rate of £15 (normally £20 or £18 if you are an affiliated athlete), using offer code MFHFM when you apply online. Everyone who registers will receive a special race pack containing an adidas technical T-shirt (worth £18), a 20 per cent off adidas apparel and footwear voucher plus other goodies.
