Wax your way to that summer body
By slhaf | July 17, 2009
Back in January you dreamt about the skimpy bikini you’d be wearing to show off your perfectly toned body this summer. Well… it’s summer, and if the only option to cover up those unsightly lumps and bumps is a kaftan or sarong, then it’s definitely time to try the ‘Wax Workout’.
The ‘Wax Workout’ has been designed by Scott Wright, the man who famously helped Kerry Katona lose two stones earlier this year. Not only will it melt away the pounds but it delivers the double whammy of cleaning the car at the same time!

Using a combination of aerobic and anaerobic exercise, the workout tones and trims problem areas including the stomach, arms and thighs. Lasting just 40 minutes, the work-out will burn around 180 calories (for the average 155 lb woman), and if done twice a week in combination with Scott’s specially formulated diet, it could result in up to a stone in weight loss after just a month.
Each exercise works a particular muscle group with the lower body, upper body and core areas all targeted. The full body approach means it’s the ultimate fat burning, car cleaning regime.
Scott Wright said, “Washing your car is such a physical activity that it makes sense to kill two birds with one stone. I definitely took inspiration from the Karate Kid’s ‘wax on, wax off’ approach when I was putting the program together. Exercise doesn’t always need to follow conventional methods – as long as you’re active and raising your heart rate, then you’re burning calories.”
Scott has also produced a diet to accompany the plan that’s based on consuming 1400 calories a day for a woman and 1600 for a man. The diet isn’t a quick fix, but is designed to fit in with the workout, providing enough energy to train without an excess amount of carbohydrates. There are no treats allowed and chocolate, alcohol, sweets and crisps are all banned.
The Turtle Wax diet is based on eating little and often to keep the metabolism firing on all cylinders. It’s been designed to support weight loss alongside the exercise program, but if in doubt it’s best to consult a doctor before commencing any new diet or exercise plan.
